It is being sent to deans, vice chancellors, department chairs, governance leads, Administrative Council, Leadership Council, University Relations Council, VCFA directors, Smart Restart Coordinating Group members, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Council members and the Provost’s Executive Group.

Recent Activities
Monday, Oct. 12: - Vice Chancellor Lori Reesor issued a message to undergraduate students reminding them that all courses and final exams will be fully remote after the Thanksgiving recess. The message also provided travel and COVID-19 testing guidance for those who need to or choose to return to campus after the recess.
- Graduate School Dean Bill Karpus sent a separate message about Thanksgiving recess plans to all graduate students.
- Housing also provided important information about the Thanksgiving recess to all Housing residents and their families. The email addressed residence and dining hall operations over the recess and included additional information about testing, Housing rates, and the cancellation deadline for residence hall contracts.
- Chancellor Rebecca Blank spoke to the Academic Staff Assembly to provide an update on the "State of the University."
- Madison Police Department, City of Madison and Public Health Madison Dane County began sending a letter to bars and housing in the Regent Street, State Street, Langdon and other heavy-student and establishment areas to remind them of current public health orders. The letter is to educate and provide warnings of potential enforcement measures prior to UW-Madison football and Halloween.
Tuesday, Oct. 13: - Inside UW included an article reminding all faculty and staff to avoid activities that may contribute to the spread of COVID-19 over the Thanksgiving recess. It encourages anyone planning to return to campus after the recess to strictly limit their interactions for 14 days after returning to Madison and to receive a COVID-19 test before returning to campus.
Wednesday, Oct. 14: - The chancellor was featured in a podcast for the Center for Strategic and International Studies in which she provided insights on UW–Madison's COVID-19 outbreak, the actions that campus took to respond, the spike in cases across the state, and the upcoming return of football, among other topics.
- The Weekly included an article about where students can safely vote on campus, how to get engaged in the election, and how to register to vote. A link to UW's Voter Information website was also provided.
Thursday, Oct. 15: - The Office of Human Resources sent an email to all employees announcing a new pulse survey to gather input as campus makes plans for the spring semester. The survey was also promoted in Inside UW.
- UW-Madison has joined the City of Madison and Public Health Madison Dane County in advising residents to avoid Halloween gatherings due to COVID-19 and to follow the current public health order. In a press release, UW–Madison Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards and UW Police Department will be working to help ensure compliance.
Friday, Oct. 16: - The chancellor provided opening remarks for the virtual Family Weekend 2020. She discussed this year's freshman class and provided an update about UW-Madison 's response to COVID-19.
- FP&M sent an email to building managers regarding instructional spaces scheduled for use in the Fall 2020 semester that has been updated by the Registrar. Building managers should check Classrooms Scheduled for Fall 2020 and Scheduled Classrooms Change Report.
